The story

I'm Emmanuel Umoh. I run Chimney Studios, an AI implementation agency, alongside a couple of other businesses. MatchKo started as a solution to my own problem.

Last year I sent 180 applications. I tailored every resume by hand until I physically couldn't anymore. Then I started using ChatGPT — and my interview rate dropped. Recruiters were flagging the AI writing. I was losing opportunities not because I wasn't qualified, but because my tools were making my candidacy look suspicious.

MatchKo is what I wish I had. It learns your actual voice from resumes you've already written. It tailors each application to the specific ATS system and keyword pattern of the job. And it post-processes every document to strip the AI tells recruiters have learned to catch.

What we believe

Three things, and we mean them.

Applications should take minutes.

If a tool exists, there's no good reason job applications should eat your whole weekend. Speed is a feature.

AI should adapt to you.

Generic AI output reads like generic AI output. The only version of this that works is one that learns your voice, not replaces it.

Your data is yours.

We don't sell it, train on it, or share it. You can export everything and delete your account in two clicks.

How we work

Small team, honest product.

MatchKo is bootstrapped. No VC, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. It's built by one founder (me) with a small team of contractors handling design and editing work.

We are based in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, and operate under Chimney Studios. That means every decision — pricing, privacy, what we build next — comes from what actually helps users, not from what pleases a board deck.
